Police officers shot a man who killed an 18-year-old woman in Rancho Cordova police after a vehicle chase on Highway 99 Wednesday in Elk Grove, officials said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was found dead outside a home in the 3000 block of Ramsgate Way at 1:15 p.m. The coroner on Friday identified her as Saraiya Acosta.
The police officers also told that they responded to a caller who said a man stabbed a woman and ran her over with a vehicle. Officers found the woman with multiple knife wounds.
After hours detectives identified a suspect and found him in Elk Grove, according to Amar Gandhi, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
Police officers said that three of their officers fired their weapons at the suspect, but it was not clear how many times the suspect was shot.
