He's set to debut on The Voice this coming Sunday, with trailers highlighting how he 'fell out of love with music' several years ago.
But Jack Vidgen actually faced a much bigger crisis in his life aged 17, when he was diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening brain tumour.
The aspiring singer, now 22, required emergency surgery in March 2014 to remove the tumour, which had been discovered behind his left eye.

He began: 'I have been trying to decide whether to go public with this. But you guys have been a big part of the last three years of my life so here it is.

But the first surgery wasn't completely successful, and Jack had to go back a second time to remove any potential remnants of the tumour.
'If it is not [removed] then the possibility of what's left inside turning nasty is high,' he added at the time.
'So it looks like I'll have to go back in for surgery again.'

He also shared a photo of himself asleep in a hospital bed after undergoing surgery, with his left eye appearing bruised.
But Jack claimed the photo looked worse than it actually was.
'I look like I'm in immense pain but I was really just asleep and drugged lol,' he wrote.
