Jimmy Ruffin was an American soul singer born in Mississippi in 1937. He was the older brother of David Ruffin of the Temptations, and the two sang together in the gospel group the Dixie Nightingales. Jimmy joined the Motown stable in 1961 and released his debut studio album in 1967. Ruffin had success with several singles, including “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted” and “Hold On (To My Love)”.
